I used to love you

I used to love you, would of gave anything to be in ur presence/first time I heard
You were on a TDK tape as a present/You was wit a tribe called quest gracing the hook with your sound/the way u moved in my ear, I knew that my love had been found/many
years I listened to u preach about the struggles of our people/ the injustices
we face, and how mental enslavements are lethal/u made the world see thru, even
when u were just being flashy/u still had a story to tell, u didn’t just rhyme and
gas me/this is who I fell in love with, ur beauty was all over my notebooks/every
line wit endless rhymes thru u i was inspired and wrote hooks/u were my queen, u
encouraged the streets that I've lived from night to dawn/i remember the first
time we talked and had a convo on my microphone/but now, somethings different
sumthings missing, u give no more substance/its like wen u speak nowadays ur
words no longer touches/my heart my soul, I don't even ask u to repeat ur
sentences/ur more flashy and the messages u give are more dimensionless/your
swag is off, yeah ur still gorgeous, but there's nuthin more than the looks wit
you/u let soft guys glamour ur life fashion this and they  cushion you/i
remember how u wud soar weneva I put the kush in you/now when I puff, its mase
on a gud day ur only big for two/your're no longer sacred, no privacy, your files
are all public/you go out your way to appeal to all pop, rock, and crunk shit/im
not sayin to be boxed in,but you basically lost all guidelines/you forgot about
your true lover, and left him watchin from the sidelines/i used to wake up to
your voice, brothers and cuzins had you hooked to the speakers/matching your base
to my pulse, that was juss one of your wonderful features/school tried to
seperate us, no ipod or electronical devices/so I used to sneak to hear you
speak, even If was caught, you sufficed it/to hear you I covered my ears with my
hoodie or ducked my head in my bag/sat in the back of the class, and if I had
math last, the volume was ready to blast/enough flashbacks, what happened to you,
do you know wat u caused?/your cuzin Raekwon to sell out and collab wit Justin
Beiber on a song/your uncle Snoop aint even bout it, he out wit Katy Perry/your
boy Jada's still gunna ride, But I kno the pressures heavy/since you let down
you standards, every nigga tryin to get with you/punchline rappers, guncrime
actors, there's no chance of fixin you/Hip Hop, she's dead, some wud argue like
dudes in the suits and the ties/But I'd rather she be dead, than to look this
stupid alive/So goodbye Hip Hop, goodbye my love, the gems you've gave I'll neva
lose it/no more artist, all 5 star chicks, your new name now is just Music
